Assessment: Pirates of the Caribbean On-Ride

In-Class Assessment The Pirates of the Caribbean On-Ride video viewed in class was long, but definitely engaging throughout. Many iconic scenes and their settings from all three movies in the original franchise, ones that I vividly remember from the movie, were included in the environment of this ride, viewed from a boat in a canal. Several characters, too, made appearances - including Jack Sparrow, Davy Jones, people from Barbossa's crew, and some of Davy Jones's henchmen as well, which called me back to the films. Some immersive reality aspects were included too, so instead of just sailing in a boat through the entire ride, there were some non-physical aspects of it, some parts that seem to have been projected onto a screen and then seamlessly transitioned into physical reality. (The said technique happened with the battle between Davy Jones's ship and Jack's ship.) This helped mask the puppetry/behind-the-scenes aspects of the ride and leave the viewer wondering ho
